Of the six floral regions in the world, the Cape Floral Region in South Africa is the smallest and the richest. There are over 8500 plant species can be located on this narrow coastal strip of land and has been declared a World Heritage site. The South African Cape is probably best known for its’ coastline, wine lands, Kalahari Desert and Table Mountain but visiting the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens can give you a whole new perspective on beauty. The North Coast is also home to various diamond mining operations. The Cape is as diverse as the whole of South Africa which has been described as many countries in one by many people.
